Wagubri Bermitra dengan Seknas BUMP Indonesia, Tingkatkan Produktivitas Komoditas Tanaman Pangan

PEKANBARU-Wakil Gubernur Riau (Wagubri), Edi Natar Nasution melakukan pertemuan dengan Seknas Badan Usaha Milik Petani (BUMP) Indonesia, Senin (7/9/2020).

Dalam pertemuan itu dihadiri Ketua Seknas BUMP Indonesia Dr Ir Sugeng Edi Waluyo MM, Koorwil BUMP Riau Alexander Pranoto, dan drg Edi Purdjianto.

Wagubri Edi Natar Nasution mengatakan, perlu kiranya kerja keras semua stakeholder di bidang pertanian dalam upaya meningkatkan produktivitas komoditas tanaman pangan.

“Kenapa saya begitu fokus (di bidang pertanian)? Karena semaju apapun teknologi, seberapa pesatnya pembangunan infrastruktur, tapi yang kita makan adalah hasil kerja keras insan-insan pertanian,” jelas dia.

Dalam upaya dan program tersebut, sebut Edi mesti dilanjutkan. Tujuannya agar produksi tanaman pangan di Riau terus meningkat. Dia juga mengimbau kepada insan pertanian untuk menjaga lahannya agar tidak dialihfungsikan.

“Kita juga berharap BUMP bisa bersama menciptakan sumber daya pertanian di Riau. Kita meminta kepada petani dan pejabat di bidang pertanian untuk gencar melakukan gerakan percepatannya. Hal itu dilakukan agar swasembada pangan berkelanjutan dapat terealisasi di Riau,”paparnya.

Dikatakan, Pemprov Riau sekarang tengah berusaha membuat central pangan. Baik itu tanaman padi, buahan, dan tanaman hortikultura lainnya.

“Kita juga mengajak masyarakat memanfaatkan lahan rumah saja dimulai menanam. Peduli terhadap kondisi pertanian. Karena bersama kita harus menjaga ketahanan pangan,”ujarnya.

Sementara itu Seknas BUMP Indonesia, Dr Ir Sugeng Edi Waluyo MM menyebutkan, ilmu pertanian itu harus ada hati.

Kesepakatan bersama, sebut dia, Riau segera berdiri Pusdiklat BUMP. Di lokasi Pusdiklat BUMP ini segera menjadi lumbung pangan.

“Kita berada dilokasi strategis. Letaknya dekat dengan Malaysia, Johor, dan Singapura. Ini bentuk strategis yang harus terus ditingkatkan untuk mewujudkan petani hebat di Riau,”jelas dia.

Disebutkan Edi, BUMP siap menjadi mitra petani.”Jadi, pak Wagubri, kami dari BUMP murni merajut kemitraan dengan petani di Riau. Jadi, tidak semua petani dibentuk BUMP,tergantung mainshet petaninya,”ujarnya.

Koorwil BUMP Riau, Alexander Pranoto mengatakan, pihaknya sudah melakukan percepatan terencana, terukur, dan tepat guna pembangunan sektor pertanian tanaman pangan, perkebunan, dan peternakan di Provinsi Riau.

Selain itu, sebutnya, program penyediaan lahan pangan khususnya padi juga sedang dirancang, dan dipersiapkan.

“Ini semua sedang digarap secara profesional oleh para petani bersinergi dengan Akademisi, Bussiness, Goverment, Media/wartawan, dan Petani (ABGMP),” ujar Alex
